Spiritual and Psychological Well-Being

Islam recognizes both spiritual and psychological dimensions of human well-being. Emotional distress, anxiety, and sadness can arise from various causes, including life circumstances, stress, or health conditions. Not every difficulty is spiritual in nature.
When Ruqiya Is Appropriate
Ruqiya may be sought for spiritual concerns such as waswas, fear, unexplained discomfort, or when a person feels spiritually affected. It is a means of seeking Allah’s help through Qur’anic recitation and supplication.
The Importance of Medical and Professional Care
Islam encourages seeking medical treatment when needed. The Prophet ﷺ advised seeking treatment while trusting Allah. Ruqiya should never be used as a replacement for professional medical or psychological care.
A Responsible Islamic Approach
A balanced approach involves prayer, remembrance of Allah, Ruqiya when appropriate, and professional help when required. This holistic perspective protects individuals from harm and misunderstanding.
